1.0 INTRODUCTION TO GRADUATE AND STUDENT EMPLOYMENT MATTERS
Our Motto “Non nobis solum” in Latin means “ Not for Ourselves Alone.” In keeping with our motto to the letter, and being that we are a caring Alma Mater, Heedmorine Institute has adopted a stance that will strive to collect and collate data from students and graduates for the benefit of potential employers who will provide Holiday Jobs (for students), Internships, Part Time Jobs and Full Time Jobs. We have taken cognisance of the fact that the majority of students and graduates generally do not have the means to comprehensively market their Curriculum Vitae (CVs) to potential Employers thereby failing to secure Holiday Jobs, Internships, Part Time Jobs and Full Time Jobs. Consequently, majority of students and graduates end up missing out on formal and self employment opportunities. Our mode of operation includes using Donor funds for Free Advertising (Renewable annually) of CV STRONG POINTS of students and graduates below in our CV DATABASES so that potential employers who visit our website may independently view the CV DATABASES and directly communicate with students and graduates to offer and negotiate employment. We are also ready to use Donor Funds to offer Accredited Supervision Skills Training (For Free via Online Distance e-Learning) and also Code 8 Driving Training (For Free) to students and graduates because Supervision Skills and Driving Skills will strengthen the CV Strong Points of students and graduates. In exceptional circumstances, we may collect and collate information from potential employers regarding employment opportunities on offer which we display on our News Flash on the Home Page of this website. Note that Work Placement Mentorships and Internships may be sponsored by Heedmorine Institute and/or by hundreds of Employers and Donors.

4.0 WORK PLACEMENT MENTORSHIPS & INTERNSHIPS SPONSORED BY HEEDMORINE INSTITUTE
4.1 PHILOSOPHY OF WORK PLACEMENT MENTORSHIPS AND INTERNSHIPS FOR HEED-NGO
The Fellowship, Internship, Work Placement Mentorships, Bursaries, Scholarship and Studentship (FIBSS) Program is a vital instrument that targets progressive volunteers who are identified as being vital during implementation phases of community based programs. The primary mission of the FIBSS Program is to link progressive scholars from under-served communities with potential providers of academic support. Being that the FIBSS Program largely deals with donor funds, HEED has deemed it absolutely necessary to draft and ratify FIBSS Regulations that are intended to guide and direct all matters that are pertinent to the administration of Fellowships, Internships, Bursaries, Scholarships and Studentships and include the following:
– Receiving of application forms from applicants
– Conduct selection for short listing purposes
– Forwarding of pertinent short lists to potential providers of funds
Most previously disadvantaged communities of South Africa have been and are still inevitably plagued by poverty and its’ offshoots such as, anarchy, illiteracy, homelessness, juvenile delinquency, malaise, malnutrition, reduced life expectancy, failure of community members to identify and prioritize problems etc. A survey conducted by HEED NGO in under-served communities of South Africa, revealed that youth in under-served communities are keen to participate in constructive community activities in lieu of budging to pressure that poverty exerts on such communities which makes the said youth to indulge in delinquency.
In order to participate in the cushioning of pressure that poverty exerts on under-served communities, HEED NGO found it inevitable to develop community based programs that aim at constructive engagement of juveniles in previously disadvantaged communities. In addition, HEED NGO identified the vital role that progressive volunteers from such communities play during the implementation phases of the said community based programs. HEED NGO views the said progressive volunteers as inter alia critical in the process of positive identification and prioritization of constructive activities in which juveniles from under-served communities will be willing to participate. HEED NGO has further identified students from under-served communities who are actively studying at tertiary institutions as being progressive relative to the aged and their peers who have for any reason not registered at any tertiary institution. HEED NGO thus intends to perpetually harness the goodwill that the said progressive tertiary students enjoy in their communities by engaging them in community based programs. Information gathered from progressive tertiary students (by HEED NGO) has unfortunately revealed that most parents and guardians of the said progressive students face difficulty in meeting their financial obligations in as far as paying for tertiary education of their children and dependants respectively is concerned. The said financial incapacity initially leads to de-motivation of such progressive individuals and inevitably leads to failure of efforts to empower such progressive individuals academically. Suffice it to mention that lack of academic empowerment of such progressive individuals, will result in HEED NGO not being able to effectively engage them in community based programs. The latter situation if unchecked will result in failure of HEED NGO to forge viable partnerships with under-served communities and will inevitably worsen the already vicious circle of poverty and its’ offshoots that are prevalent in such communities.
Being a member of the National Education Finance Association, HEED NGO has consequently initiated the Fellowship, Internship, Work Placement Mentorships, Bursaries, Scholarship and Studentship (FIBSS) Program which primarily receives applications, conducts selection and forwards pertinent short lists to potential providers of funds thereby linking progressive scholars from under-served communities with potential providers of academic support. This will be achieved through HEED NGO’s facilitation of numerous processes that will be aimed at helping under-served tertiary students who are academically excellent to obtain bursaries from different sources. The funds to be disbursed to successful applicants for Bursaries, Scholarships and Studentships will depend on factors such as available funds and fees structure for Certificate, Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses that are offered at different tertiary institutions
Funds to be disbursed to successful applicants for Internships and Research Fellowships will depend on available funds versus the budget that applicants will submit for Work Placement Mentorships, Internships and Research Fellowships. Annual revision of disbursable amounts will be the preserve of individual providers of such funds. It must be emphasized that upon benefiting from Bursaries, Scholarships, Studentships, Work Placement Mentorships, Internships and Fellowships that HEED NGO will facilitate, such academically excellent individuals and tertiary students will be required by HEED NGO to assist in various voluntary capacities in different community based programs that will be aimed at engaging especially youth, in constructive activities.
